Bi-Weekly Recycling Collection

The City Wins When You Use the Blue Bin!

Increasing recycling isn’t just good for the environment, it’s also one of the most effective ways you can help the City save money. Remember that its cost the City money when you throw something away in your maroon colored trash container, and the City makes get money for the items your recycling in your blue container. Recycling is a no brainer.

New Britain’s curbside recycling program is a “Single Stream Recycling” program where the several recyclable materials such as paper, plastics, cardboard, glass, and some other materials can be mixed together in a resident’s Blue Container.  The different recyclable materials are mechanically sorted after they are delivered to the Recycling Facility. More information about what materials can be recycled is included on this website under the Single Stream Recycling section of the website.

New Britain provides Bi-weekly Recycling Collection services for 1-6 family properties, and a limited number of other properties. These collections typically occur every other week on Mondays through Fridays on a designated “Collection Day” for your area. For recycling collections each “Collection Day” is further broken up into an A and B routes.

A Trash and Recycling Collection Day Route Map and information to determine if your property is an A or B week for Curbside Recycling Collection is available HERE.
