Paving Detailed Daily Updates
Daily Update:
Friday, July 19 - Alexander Rd was completed today. This completes the 2024 Milling & Paving Program. The City's Public Works Department will remove any leftover asphalt on the side of the road next week. Pavement markings will be laid out and sprayed over the next few weeks.
Thursday, July 18 - The first course and half the top course was placed on Alexander Rd today. Alexander Rd will be completed tomorrow.
Wednesday, July 17 - Dean Dr, Pentlow Av and Yeaton St were completed today. Tomorrow, the first course will be placed and the top started on Alexander Rd.
Tuesday, July 16 - Overlook Av was completed today. For tomorrow, Dean Dr, Pentlow Av and Yeaton St will be completed.
Monday, July 15 - McClintock St was completed today. The first course was also started on Overlook Av. Overlook Av and Sealander St will be completed tomorrow.
Friday, July 12 - Capitol Av, Pulaski St, Nash St, Albany Av and Lorranie St were completed today. The first course on McClintock St was also started. McClintock St will be completed on Monday.
Thursday, July 11 - The top course was completed on High st, Doris st, and Davis st. The first course was also placed on Capitol Ave, Pulaski St, Nash St, and Albany Ave. Tomorrow the top course will be placed on Capitol Ave, Pulaski St, Nash St, and Albany Avenue. Lorraine St and McClintock St will be worked on as well.
Wednesday, July 10 - The paving contractor did not get as far as expected today. High St (W Main St to Columbus Blvd), High Street (Myrtle St to Carmody St) were completed today. For tomorrow, High St (Carmody St to Biruta St), Doris St and Davis St will be completed. The first course will also be started on Capitol Ave, Pulaski St, Nash St and Albany Av.
Tuesday, July 9 - The first course of pavement was placed on High St, Doris St and Davis St today. The top course will be placed on these streets tomorrow and Thursday.
Monday, July 8 - Despite the heat today, the paving contractor was able to complete Stanley St and Whiting St. The first course will be placed on High St, Doris St and Davis St tomorrow. The top course may also get started.
Sunday, July 7 - Paving will resume tomorrow morning on Whiting St and Stanley St.
Friday, June 28 - Russwin Rd, Slater Rd and Myrtle St were completed today. Part of the first course was also placed on High St (between Myrtle St and Broad St. Our paving contractor has an emergency project and will not be paving in New Britain next week. Paving will resume on July 8. An updated schedule is attached.
Thursday, June 27 - Stanley St and Whiting Street were milled today. This completes the milling portion of the Program. The top course of pavement was placed on Torkom Dr, Norton Rd and most of Russwin Rd. Tomorrow, Russwin Rd and Slater Rd will be completed. If all goes well Albany Av, Pulaski St and Nash St will be started also.
Wednesday, June 26 - Doris St and High St (Broad St to Myrtle St and Columbus Blvd to W Main St) were milled today. Stanley St and Whiting St will be milled tomorrow. The first course of paving was placed on torkom Dr, Russwin Rd, Norton Rdand Slater Rd today. The top course will be placed on Torkom Dr, Norton Rd and Russwin Rd tomorrow.
Tuesday, June 25 - High St (Biruta St to Broad St) and Davis St were milled today. Doris St and High St (Broad St to West Main St) will be milled tomorrow. Paving will also begin on Torkom Dr, Russwin Rd, Norton Rd and Slater Rd tomorrow.
Monday, June 24 - Lorraine St and McClintock St were milled today. High St (from Biruta St to Broad St), Doris St and Davis St will be milled tomorrow. The paving is being pushed back a day and will start on Wednesday.
Friday, June 21 - Alexander Rd was milled today. Lorraine St and McClintock St will be milled on Monday. The north end of High st might also be started.
Thursday, June 20 - Due to truck issues and the heat, the millin contractor did not get as far as anticipated today. Dean Dr, Pemtlow Av and Yeaton St were milled today. Alexander Rd will be milled tomorrow. Paving is tentatively scheduled to start on Tuesday, June 25. An updated schedule is attached.
Wednesday, June 19 - Capitol Av, Selander St and Overlook Av were milled today. Dean Dr, Pentlow Av and Yeaton St will be completed then Alexander Rd will be started tomorrow.
Tuesday, June 18 - Slater Rd, Torkum Dr, Albany Av, Nash St and Pulaski St were milled today. The crew will start on Capitol Av tomorrow then Overlook Av and Sealander St.
Monday, June 17 - Norton Rd, Russwin Rd and part of Slater Rd were milled today. Slater Rd, Torkom Dr, Albany Av, Nash St, Pulaski St and Capitol Av will be milled tomorrow.
Thursday, June 13 - Milling is scheduled to start on Monday, June 17. We will begin milling on Ruswin Road, Norton Road and Slater Road. A projected schedule has been posted.
