MAYOR’S ART INVITATIONAL OPENING AT NEW BRITAIN CITY HALL

WHAT: Mayor Erin Stewart and the New Britain Commission on the Arts will hold an opening reception for a new exhibit at City Hall: The Mayor’s Invitational. New this year, the Mayor will showcase some of her original photography works as part of the exhibition.  
 
WHEN: Wednesday, Dec. 11 – 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
 
WHERE:       27 West Main St., New Britain, Conn. – Second Floor 
 
WHO: Mayor Erin Stewart New Britain Commission on the Arts Area artists  Open to the public
 
BACKGROUND: Mayor Erin E. Stewart and the New Britain Commission on the Arts invite the public to an opening reception at City Hall a new exhibition: the Mayor’s 2019-20 Art in the Heart of the City Invitational. The exhibition will be on display until June 2020.

“We are delighted to once again host this popular Art in the Heart of the City exhibit here at City Hall,” said Mayor Erin Stewart. “There is immense talent in our community and region and we are honored to provide a space to share their works.”

The artists includes selected to participate in the Mayor’s Invitational are: Ursula Coccomo, Eva Gryk, Alexander Ranniello, Anne Sheffield, and Margaret Wilson.

The exhibit is free and open to the public; refreshments and food will be served. Free parking is available after 5 p.m. in the Badolato parking garage.

The public can also view the exhibit during normal operating hours; City Hall is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.
