Eddy Glover Boulevard Traffic Safety Improvements

Dear Residents and Property Owners:

The City of New Britain has completed the Preliminary Design of the Eddy Glover Boulevard Traffic Safety Improvements Project. This proposed project will reconfigure the section of Eddy Glover Boulevard between McClintock Street and Commonwealth Avenue to a large modified traffic circle thereby reducing conflict points and normalize traffic operations on this confusing section of roadway.

The City will conduct an informational meeting on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at 6:00pm in Room 504 New Britain City Hall, 27 West Main Street, New Britain, CT. Deaf and hearing impaired persons wishing to attend this meeting and requiring an interpreter may make arrangements by contacting Kian Downes at (860) 612-5004 at least five working days prior to the meeting.

Based upon preliminary assessment, the construction cost will be approximately $1.04M. The Federal Highway Administration will provide approximately 90% of the construction cost with the City providing approximately 10%.

It is the City’s and the State's policy to keep persons informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development.

Anyone interested in obtaining further information, providing input or requiring language assistance may do so by contacting Robert Trottier, City Engineer, at (860) 826-3355 or visit the City’s web site at

Very truly yours,

Robert Trottier, P.E.
