The City of New Britain is acutely aware of the tragedy of drug, alcohol and opioid dependency, and the sweeping heights it has reached in our community. Over the years, the City has worked to address these issues through varying initiatives including Building Hope Together (the task force to end homelessness), the Mayor’s Opioid Task Force, and the Central CT H.O.P.E initiative (Heroin/Opioid Prevention & Education).

New Britain Recovers represents a new consortium of the many individuals and community resources that provide services in the areas of homelessness, addiction, and youth prevention. The City of New Britain has brought together the City's Opioid Task Force, Homelessness Plan, and Local Prevention Council under the umbrella of New Britain Recovers, unifying these three previously separate initiatives into an efficient and effective one-stop-shop that can provide a more holistic service approach to community members.
