Civil Union Certificate IN ACCORDANCE WITH C.G.S. § 46B-38rr, ALL CIVIL UNIONS CONVERTED TO MARRIAGES ON OCTOBER 1, 2010, EXCEPT THOSE THAT WERE DISSOLVED, OR HAD DISSOLUTION, ANNULMENT OR LEGAL SEPARATION PROCEEDINGS PENDING ON OCTOBER 1, 2010. Certified copies of a Civil Union certificate may be obtained in the town where the Civil Union occurred or in the Connecticut town of residence of either party 1 or party 2 at the time the Civil Union took place.  Obtaining Certified Copies of a Civil Union License by mail: To request a certified copy of a Civil Union license by mail send a letter including the following information or print and complete the REQUEST FOR A CERTIFIED COPY OF A CIVIL UNION LICENSE form . The fee is $20.00 for each certified copy and no personal checks are accepted by mail. Name of party 1 and party 2.
