"Every Kid Counts" and "Exercise the Right Choice" After
School Programs
The
Parks and Recreation Department runs an "Every Kid Counts" elementary
after school program and "Exercise the Right Choice" middle school
after school program. The program is open to 3rd-8th grade students.
The programs run October 13, 2009-May 14, 2010, Monday-Friday, from
2:30p.m.-6:00p.m. and are free of charge. During the winter months of
December-February, the program is open on Saturdays from 9:00am-1:00pm.
The program has three components: education, recreation, and cultural
arts. Students receive homework assistance, participate in specialty
classes and recreational activities. CMT Prep classes, Readers Theatre,
Computer Classes, Chess Club and Newspaper Club are also part of the
program. Bussing is provided three times a week: Mondays, Tuesdays, and
Wednesdays.
