Wiatr Director Chief Building Official General Information: The purpose of the Department of Licenses, Permits and Inspections is to perform functions related to the powers and duties imposed by the Connecticut General Statutes, Special Acts, as well as the New Britain Charter and Ordinances. The Department of Licenses, Permits and Inspections consists of three divisions and the office staff, who are all charged with the preservation as well as promotion of the public and building safety in this municipality. For general information or to request a final Certificate of Occupancy inspection, call the office staff. For Code questions or individual inspections of your project in the City of New Britain, please call the appropriate trade inspector with your question.
